Commit diff
Pick a commit or a range and review the change by its shape.
Choose what to compare
On a project with git history, pick a commit — or a range — from the commit controls above the map. Lightwell lights up the blocks and connections that change, and everything else falls into shadow.
Read the change
- The summary banner names the commit (or “base…through” for a range) and counts changed blocks, changed connections, and files outside the map.
- Expand the summary to list the changed blocks and outside-map files with their line counts. Choose an entry to jump to that block and its inline diff.
- Only changed filters the map (and the file tree branches) to just the change. It starts off for each new choice.
- Prev / Next — or [ and ] — steps through the changed blocks.
- The legend explains the line and connection highlights: changed blocks gain
+n −nbadges, ancestors show the rolled-up count, and connections restyle as added, changed, or removed.
Changed rows in the file tree carry the same counts, so you can review from whichever view you prefer.
